Beaver Control

Beavers are the largest rodent in North America weighing anywhere from 24 to 71 pounds. Beavers have been known to be extremely aggressive. Beavers are rabies carriers and are know to attack humans when they are infected with this disease. Beavers are well-equipped to live in environments that contain a plethora of water. Their fur is waterproof and both their feet and tail aid in the swimming process. The nuisances associated with Beavers are two-fold, as they cut down trees AND used the accumulated material to build nearby dams.

They are the most active at night but are still active during the day if not disturbed. Beavers build massive dams that they construct out of logs, rocks, sticks, and mud. The purpose of the dam is to create a barrier that beavers can use to escape from predators. When it comes to the removal of beavers it must be done carefully and diligently. If/when the animal is trapped it is to be relocated at a minimum distance of ten miles from where it was captured. Additionally, a relocated beaver must be placed in a separate water system from its previous environment. This is done to prevent future dams from being built on the same body of water to prevent excessive flooding.
