Woodpecker Control

Woodpeckers are very well known for the knocking they make on trees. There is usually three reasons why woodpeckers knock on homes such as: looking to roost, eating insects inside the siding, or they are storing food. Woodpeckers are found all around the globe and usually live in habitats that have vast amounts of trees and shrubbery. They will basically live in any situation that provides them with ample opportunity to build a quality nest. Woodpeckers eat a variety of foods depending on the time of year. They eat primarily sap in the spring, insects in the summer, and seeds/nuts in the fall. With a high metabolism, these birds are always on the lookout for their next meal. This is why bird feeders can be a bad idea as multiple birds may flock to the location if it means eating a few seeds.

Woodpeckers are classified as migratory, non-game birds and are protected by the Federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Shiny materials have been known to keep woodpeckers at bay and they are also acutely sensitive to noise. However, more times than not these methods are ineffective and cause a larger headache for homeowners themselves. Instead, your best option may be to check for any and all food sources that could attract woodpeckers. This includes looking for termites and other insects that may have found shelter inside your walls. If you are successfully able to eliminate all sources of woodpecker food from the area the birds should leave as well in search of more food.

Woodpecker Removal

The trained and certified Wildlife, Inc professionals use a Signature Wildlife Inspection that ensures we find all points of entry on the structure the woodpeckers are using to get in. This is to ensure your Wildlife, Inc tech is able to completely seal off entry points, gaps and crevices. Wildlife, Inc technicians will either trap and remove away invading woodpeckers, exclude the birds from the structure using specialized devices or remove the animals by hand using specialized handling tools.

Wildlife, Inc technicians are all home repair specialists as well. Once animals are removed the process of fixing their left behind damage begins. Wildlife, Inc will seal off, repair and install preventive measure to ensure damaged substrates are fixed and the exterior is like new. This also protects against future animals and pests breaching back into the structure.

Wildlife, Inc also offers Bio-Hazardous Waste Removal services. When pests breach into interior voids of structures such as attics, ceilings and walls they leave behind fecal, droppings, urine, nesting material, birthing material and other forms of defecation and bacteria. These contaminations must be removed along with the soiled insulation to ensure occupants are not contracting disease and infection. Wildlife, Inc technicians will remove contaminants, soiled insulation, apply bacterial and germicidal spray applications and then blow back in fresh insulation completely restoring the area.
